V/MSP GALLERY is a Brussels-based contemporary art gallery established by Olaf Man Singh Pradhan and Sofie Verbrugghen.

 

The gallery focuses on art characterised by a distinctive approach to materiality, embedded in sociological and philosophical questions. We understand art as a discourse being defined by a complex structure of personal histories, socio-political practices and aesthetic theories. The artistic process challenges us to perceive our environment in new ways, to question, evaluate and revalorise existing paradigms. In each of these processes, the underlying principle is an ongoing exchange of communication with the environment, be it through dialogue, expression of opinion or controversy. Our aim, therefore, is to create the greatest possible engagement with our surroundings.

 

Both gallerists share a passion for art and contemporary dance as well as a background in the arts sector. Olaf obtained a Magister Artium in art history, theatre studies and communication studies from FU Berlin, while Sofie studied dance therapy in Berlin and holds a master's degree in Cultural Studies from KU Leuven. Both acquired extensive experience in developing and coordinating artistic and cultural projects before taking the step to found the gallery.
